Once you’ve navigated to Chapter 3-1 titled “Born from the Flame”, you will encounter a character named Dareel at the Plains Base Camp. Should your present goal be to engage with Rosso, you can locate Dareel in a tent situated directly behind him.
Engaging with Dareel initiates the ‘Dareel’s Research Expedition’, inviting explorers to capture a Swift-tailed Reptile.
Where are Tracktail Lizards in Monster Hunter Wilds?
During our expedition in Area 13 of the Plains, we discovered not just one but two sets of Tracktail Lizards. Interestingly, they were spotted near the boundary between Area 16 (located to the north of Area 13). Remember, these creatures are quite swift and tend to flee if you approach them too closely.
Simply approach them from the rear, squat down first before releasing your capture net. Maintain a moderate distance; there’s no need to get too close. It’s also important to note that you only need to catch a single Tracktail Lizard, so if necessary, allow the other one to escape.
With the Capture Net available in your inventory, point it towards a target and prepare yourself using the left trigger or right stick. When ready, press the right trigger to launch. The captured creature will be transported to the Expedition Command Camp. Additionally, feel free to use the Capture Net multiple times during gameplay.

- Endemic creatures that are native to the Windward Plains -particularly its deserts. Their unusual tails allow them to sit upright and assess their surroundings or shield themselves from the hot sun. Their tails leave a mark in the sand, resembling a large monster’s footprint when they sit. They typically travel in pairs to watch each other’s backs while doing things like drinking water.
What’s the Reward for Dareel’s Research Report Mission in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Upon returning to Dareel at the Plains headquarters, you will receive a reward of 10 units of Honey and 50 Guild Points. It might not be the most thrilling reward, but now you are equipped with the knowledge on how to utilize your Capture Net! I’m certain you brightened up Dareel’s day.
