A viewer’s experience of watching Final Destination Bloodlines became terrifying when the ceiling of the movie theater came crashing down on her. The film was released in cinemas on May 16, 2025 and has generally been praised by critics.
Final Destination comes to life as theater ceiling collapses during Bloodlines screening
As per an account from Infobae, a cinema-goer experienced a chilling resemblance to the plot of Final Destination when the theater’s ceiling collapsed during the viewing of Bloodlines.
On May 19, Fiamma Villaverde, along with her 11-year-old daughter and a close friend, went to the movies. At nightfall, Villaverde watched the 9 p.m. screening of the film at a theater in Buenos Aires. Meanwhile, about 40 people were watching Final Destination Bloodlines at Cinema Ocho in La Plata when their movie time was disrupted by a sudden loud noise.
As I sat cozily by the steps in room 4, engrossed in the flickering screen before me, I thought the booming sound was just another thrilling effect from the movie. Little did I know, that very instant, the ceiling above me would come crashing down. In my shock, I shared with the media, “A deafening roar echoed through the room. Initially, we assumed it was part of the movie’s sound design, but soon a massive chunk fell upon me. Miraculously, it missed my head as I leaned slightly over the armrest.
The chunk of ceiling that came crashing down on her struck her on the back, ankle, and knee. Shortly after the accident, the woman requested a refund from the theater and emergency services were summoned. Later, Villaverde stated that the theater inquired about how they could rectify the situation. In response, she declared, “I’m going to submit a complaint. If it had hit my daughter in the head instead, they would be negligent!
Villaverda continued by saying, “I was truly distressed… They performed an X-ray examination. The result was that I’d suffered from a blow, causing trauma. I also had multiple bruises. Currently, I’m receiving psychiatric care and taking medication. I find it challenging to be in busy areas. It’s been years since I went to the cinema. I went because it was my birthday, and unfortunately, this is what transpired for me.
