As Final Destination: Bloodlines makes its grand entrance in cinemas, it’s setting new standards on the box office scene with its strongest opening yet among the franchise. This blockbuster debut surpasses earlier installments in the 25-year-old horror saga. Meanwhile, Thunderbolts and Sinners are still playing in theaters, but Bloodlines is making waves as a significant contender. This has led to renewed discussions about the franchises and the way films are released.

As a thrilled fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the record-breaking debut of the R-rated horror movie I recently watched, masterfully directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. This groundbreaking film marked a historic milestone in its 25-year-old franchise, becoming the highest-grossing opening ever! It was an unforgettable experience, with the movie gracing over 3,500 screens across North America. The first day alone brought in an astounding $21 million, and by the end of its opening weekend, it had earned a staggering $51 million!

The new installment of this film outperformed the previous highest-grossing title, “The Final Destination” from 2009, which made $27.4 million on its opening day and approximately $186 million worldwide. Previous films in the franchise started with lower box office earnings: The original “Final Destination” (2000) earned $10 million, followed by “Final Destination 2” at $16 million, “Final Destination 3” at $20 million, and “Final Destination 5” at $18 million.

Based on Deadline’s reports, initial predictions suggested that the movie “Bloodlines” would earn between $35-$40 million domestically and $70 million globally upon release. However, it surpassed these expectations as Thursday previews reportedly garnered $5.5 million.

The movie attracted a substantial number of fans, particularly those aged between 25 and 34, as the film’s audience was predominantly male, accounting for 52%. The movie received a B+ rating from CinemaScore and a 4-star score on PostTrak, with 69% of viewers expressing their intent to recommend it. (via Deadline)
