Fear Street: Prom Queen MPA Rating Revealed, Contains ‘Strong Gore’ & More

Although there’s no official trailer or specific release date for “Fear Street: Prom Queen” yet, movie enthusiasts should brace themselves for an exciting and gory experience when it finally debuts on Netflix. The Movie Classification and Rating (MPA) board has already given the film its rating.

What is the MPA rating for Fear Street: Prom Queen?

Fear Street: Prom Queen earns an “R” rating from MPA due to intense violence, teen drug use, profanity, and mild sexual content. With Netflix eagerly preparing for the comeback of Shadyside, renowned author R.L. Stine unveiled that three additional Fear Street movies are currently being developed based on his popular book series.

Under the direction of Matt Palmer, the forthcoming film in the Fear Street series will be a prequel, taking place in 1988, nestled between the initial three films: Fear Street Part One: 1994, Fear Street Part Two: 1978, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666. The first trilogy was released on Netflix in 2021.

The movie takes its inspiration from Stine’s 1992 novel “The Prom Queen,” which is the initial adaptation of one of his books in the franchise.

In the latest chapter of the gory Fear Street series, it’s time for prom at Shadyside High. The clique of popular girls, known as the school’s wolfpack, are busy scheming to win the crown, but things take a dark turn when an unexpected outsider is nominated for the court and the other girls begin mysteriously vanishing. As a result, the class of ’88 finds themselves in for a terrifying prom night.

The lineup features India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Lili Taylor, Katherine Waterston, and Ariana Greenblatt.

In this version, “cast” is replaced with “lineup,” making the sentence more conversational while still conveying the same meaning.

You can currently stream the initial three episodes of Fear Street on Netflix. As of now, we don’t have a specific release date for “Fear Street: Prom Queen,” but it’s anticipated to appear on the platform at some point in 2021.
