FDMTL and Vans Reunite For New Footwear Capsule

For quite some time, the denim experts from FDMTL in Japan have been working together with Vans. This partnership has resulted in adding patchworked denim elements to shoes such as the Slip-On and Authentic models.

For the first time, the duo is collaborating through Vans’ OTW division, designing unique versions of the Old Skool 36 and Half Cab 33 shoes. These designs were initially showcased during FDMTL’s Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show. Instead of a denim upper, these shoes feature a knit textile material. They maintain the look of FDMTL’s signature sashiko stitching, with various shades of blue and off-white detailing. The Jazz Stripe on each side is also replicated. The OTW by Vans logo appears at the heel, while co-branding can be found at the insoles.

currently, neither FDMTL nor Vans’ OTW line has revealed details about their upcoming collaboration involving the Old Skool 36 and Half Cab 33 models. Keep an eye out for further announcements, including launch information and campaign details, as some retailers like BSTN have already set up product pages with a planned release date of May 30th. The shoes will be priced at $135 USD for the Old Skool 36 and $140 USD for the Half Cab 33.
