FBI: CIA, a spin-off of the show FBI, is in the works at CBS.
As I’m typing this, auditions are happening for the main roles in our upcoming show, set to debut on FBI this coming spring. One of these episodes will act as a trial run, or a ‘backdoor pilot’, and if CBS likes what they see, we’re aiming for a full series order between 2025 and 2026 with FBI: CIA!
FBI statement: “In our latest operation, an earnest FBI operative teams up with a shrewd CIA agent to form a secret squad. This taskforce is specifically assigned to combat and forestall acts of domestic terrorism within and surrounding New York City.
Who is involved in FBI: CIA?
According to the statement, the upcoming TV show about the FBI is being developed by Dick Wolf, David Hughes, Nicole Perlman, and a former CIA officer named David Chasteen. The team of executive producers includes Wolf, Hudgins, Perlman, Chasteen, and Peter Jankowski. This series will be produced under Universal Television and CBS Studios.
Produced by Wolf and Craig Turk, the show FBI is a crime drama that focuses on the New York branches of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The main characters are Agents Maggie Bell, played by Missy Peregrym, and Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, portrayed by Zeeko Zaki. First airing in 2018, FBI is now in its seventh season and will be back on CBS on January 28, 2025.
The TV series based on the FBI brand has produced multiple offshoots. In its sixth season, FBI: Most Wanted concentrates on the Fugitive Task Force as they pursue criminals featured on the Most Wanted list. On the other hand, FBI: International, which is currently in its fourth season, focuses on the FBI’s International Fly Team operating in Europe.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve always admired Dick Wolf for his remarkable creations in the world of television. His Law & Order series, including Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Organized Crime, continue to dominate NBC’s airwaves. On top of that, he’s also the mastermind behind the Chicago franchise, which showcases a captivating lineup consisting of Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med on NBC.
