‘Father of The Elder Scrolls’ Julian LeFay passes away at 59

It was announced last night by the studio OnceLost, which Julian LeFay co-founded in 2019, that he had passed away. In their statement, they expressed that LeFay had a profound impact on millions of gamers worldwide and sparked many developers to venture beyond creative limitations. They also made clear that they plan to continue developing The Wayward Realms, an upcoming RPG that LeFay was involved in, as a way to bring his vision to life.

Bethesda Softworks, the company from which he parted ways in 1998, also acknowledged his significant contributions. Julian LeFay played crucial roles in creating Elder Scrolls: Arena and its sequel, Daggerfall. He even worked as a contractor during the creation process of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.
