Actor Joseph Quinn, set to portray Johnny Storm (a.k.a. Human Torch) in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, has expressed his desire for Charlie Heaton to don the Wolverine role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In November 2024, Kevin Feige announced plans for a reboot of the X-Men by Marvel Studios, revealing that the age of mutants would commence in the MCU after the culmination of Avengers: Secret Wars.
Joseph Quinn thinks Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton could be a great Wolverine
Actor from the movie “Gladiator II” will make an appearance as Human Torch in the upcoming remake of Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four, scheduled for release in July 2025.
Lately, at the 2025 MegaCon Orlando, Joseph Quinn shared thoughts about who he’d prefer to play Wolverine in the MCU. When asked about speculation surrounding his Stranger Things colleague Sadie Sink being up for the role of Jean Grey, he responded with a hint: “Perhaps Charlie [Heaton] could take on the role of Wolverine.
Apart from their collaboration on Stranger Things, Heaton and Quinn have also worked together in the past. Notably, Heaton portrayed Jonathan Byers, Will Byers’ older brother in the Netflix show, but he’s not a novice when it comes to the X-Men world. In fact, Heaton has previously been part of the 2020 movie The New Mutants, which is a spin-off from the X-Men film series.
At present, it remains uncertain who will assume the role of Wolverine in Marvel Studios’ Mutant Saga, as many fans are eagerly waiting to find out. Although Hugh Jackman reprised his character in the 2024 film Deadpool & Wolverine, there has been no official confirmation about his continued presence within the MCU.
Previously reported by SuperHeroHype, there have been whispers for some time about Sadie Sink potentially taking on the role of Jean Grey in the upcoming X-Men movie. According to insider Jeff Sneider, “It’s being suggested that Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink could portray Jean Grey within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Producer Kevin Feige is said to be preparing to launch a fresh take on the X-Men.” However, it’s important to note that these are merely rumors and nothing official has been announced yet.
