Marvel Studios has unveiled a fresh new video titled “The Fantastic Four: Initial Footprints” for its eagerly awaited superhero film, marking the beginning of Phase 6 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
In a colorful, futuristic 1960s setting, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps presents Marvel’s original family – Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing) – as they grapple with their toughest challenge yet. These superheroes find themselves juggling their heroic duties with the deep ties of family, all while protecting Earth from a ravenous cosmic deity named Galactus, portrayed by Ralph Ineson, and his mysterious Herald, Silver Surfer. The situation becomes even more personal as Galactus threatens not just Earth, but everyone on it.

What is shown in the new Fantastic Four MCU video?
This video offers fans an exclusive sneak peek into the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe introduction of Marvel’s original family. It showcases conversations between Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and director Matt Shakman, as they share their experiences in breathing life into this beloved group. The behind-the-scenes clip emphasizes the process of constructing the movie’s unique retro-futuristic setting using real sets like the Baxter Building. Additionally, Shakman discusses the team’s practical blue and white costumes, apart from their visually stunning sets.
The First Journey of the Fantastic Four is overseen by Matt Shakman, known for directing all nine episodes of WandaVision. In this film, newcomers Pedro Pascal portrays Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby embodies Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn takes on the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach becomes Ben Grimm/The Thing.
New cast additions include Natasha Lyonne (from Poker Face), Julia Garner (known for Ozark), portraying Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson (familiar from Harry Potter) as Galactus, and Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird). Prior to Marvel Studios acquiring the rights, this team was previously adapted into live-action by Sony Pictures on two occasions. The first adaptation resulted in two films, with Chris Evans playing the Human Torch.
