It’s possible that Taylor Swift may have played a role in Travis Kelce’s decision to continue playing in the NFL. After the Kansas City Chiefs lost the Super Bowl, there were whispers about his potential retirement from professional football. However, he has since clarified that he will indeed be back on the field for the 2025 NFL season.
Taylor Swift might have influenced Travis Kelce’s NFL decision
As a die-hard fan, I can tell you that Taylor Swift seems to have had an impact on Travis Kelce’s professional decisions. Sources close to Page Six claim that they indeed talked about retirement possibilities. It appears that Swift, in her wisdom, encouraged the NFL star to keep going, suggesting he end his playing career with a bang rather than calling it quits.
Earlier, the NFL player shared insights about his career struggles during an episode of the New Heights podcast. Following their loss in Super Bowl 2025, he discussed the factors that led him to continue playing football for another season.
The 35-year-old enthusiastically expressed, ‘I believe the main point is that I passionately adore participating in the sport of football.’ He further stated, ‘I enjoy playing. I still feel as though I could play it competitively and potentially even more so than I did previously.’
The Kansas City Chiefs’ defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles was a significant contributing factor. Kelce acknowledged, “It likely played the most important role.” Following a successful career, Swift’s partner expressed a sense of obligation towards the team, stating, “I should have given them much more effort and concentration.
Kelce expressed, “I believe I should give my teammates more energy and concentration when I walk into the locker room, and I’m not sure what it was during that game, but I wasn’t performing at my peak. My choice to play again was based on a strong instinct.” He stated, “As soon as I felt that sensation, I made the decision.
The tight end isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to that lifestyle just yet. He confided in his co-host and sibling Jason Kelce, “I still want to give it a solid try. I had a bitter taste in my mouth at the end of last season, considering how well I was playing, how responsible I was for those around me, and how I concluded the year.
I have a deep affection for numerous individuals in Kansas City, whether they’re from that specific facility or the wider community. Now, I consider this place as my home, and I’m not eager to give up this lifestyle just yet.
