As a seasoned fan of Fairy Tail, I must say that episode 5 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest has truly lived up to my expectations and then some! The action-packed sequences were nothing short of breathtaking, with Natsu and his party facing off against the Diabolos in a battle for the ages.

In the heart-pounding fifth episode of the season, titled “Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest,” aired on Sunday, August 4, 2024, on Netflix. Entitled “A Bitter Choice,” this installment presents Natsu’s group with a difficult dilemma as they confront the Water Dragon God, while a White Mage sneaks into the Fairy Tail guild in Magnolia and mysteriously turns its members white.

Episode 5 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest commences with Natsu, Wendy, and Erza engaged in a fierce battle against the Diabolos. As a die-hard fan of Fairy Tail, I can’t help but get excited about the latest development in the 100 Year Quest storyline. Having followed this series for years and witnessed countless battles between our beloved characters, I must say that the upcoming fifth episode looks particularly intense. The merging of Rushy and Gray seems to have ignited a fierce confrontation with Diabolo. But what intrigues me the most is the hint at Elmina’s encounter with a rampaging water dragon!

What happened in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5?

In this battle, Natsu launches fiery assaults at Madmole, reducing him to ruins. Yet, from the ashes emerges the Diabolos mage. Skullion observes Erza dominating Kiria and swiftly transports Kiria to his location. Skullion concedes a brief setback for the Diabolos, recognizing the might of the Fairy Tail team members.

Yet, when Natsu pledges to safeguard the Water Dragon God, Mercphobia, the Diabolos vow to prevent it. Furthermore, they warn that they’ll cross paths with Natsu each time they engage in a dragon battle. Interestingly, Skullion hints at their return and mentions the presence of additional mages in the vicinity.

What astonishes Natsu’s group is that just as they are about to carry on their discussion, the Diabolos mages vanish by teleportation, and their vessel transforms into nothing but ashes. Erza speculates this occurrence might be a result of Molding Magic.

At Natsu’s gathering, they plan their departure for Ermina. Meanwhile, Mercphobia seizes Karameel, urging her to flee, before causing turmoil. Upon their arrival, it’s clear that Mercphobia had already instigated chaos. Natsu immediately rescues Sharkette upon arrival and witnesses the Water Dragon God rampaging.

Karameel admits that the current disorder originates from her mistake, as she inadvertently let the White Mage seize Mercphobia’s abilities. She clarifies this by describing how Mercphobia had always been fearful of his powers spiraling out of control, inevitably leading to widespread devastation.

Reflecting on Mercphobia’s suffering, Karameel shares tales of a mysterious cult known as the White Magic Cult, which transforms objects into white. Moved by Mercphobia’s plight, Karameel weeps and implores Natsu to end his life to save us all.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5 ending spoilers

In episode 5 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, the action moves to Magnolia, home of the Fairy Tail guild, where they’ve captured Touka. When questioned by the guild, she explains that she joined Fairy Tail for Natsu. Interestingly, she thinks Wendy might have the ability to cast a spell that would separate the White Wizard from her own body.

In a surprising twist, the White Mage assumes possession of Touka’s form and swears to transform the guild into its opposite hue by draining the magic from its members. On the other hand, Natsu grapples with his decision to eliminate Mercphobia, as he perceives him to be a fundamentally good individual.

Given the deteriorating situation, swift action is necessary, yet Natsu stands firm against slaying the Water Dragon God. Instead, he confronts Karameel over her error with the White Wizard, while his companions try to convince him to battle Mercphobia. In this, Carla reminds Natsu of his pledge to safeguard his friends.

Despite his reluctance, this ultimately spurs the main character into action. So, Wendy uses Dragon Slayer Magic and the group swiftly assaults the Water Dragon God. This leads Mercphobia to plunge into the ocean, re-emerging unhurt.

By employing magical powers, Mercphobia causes the waters of the ocean in Ermina to rise into the sky, simultaneously draining it. As a result, rainwater starts accumulating over Ermina, potentially endangering the marine life of the town. This astonishing display of the Water Dragon God’s power leaves Natsu and their companions utterly amazed as they struggle to comprehend the immense strength on display.

In Magnolia, the White Wizard has successfully vanquished every member of Fairy Tail. With a sense of triumph, she boasts that she has turned the guild white, sitting amongst the fallen comrades in victory.
