Just got wind of The Finals update 5.8.0, and it’s packed with patch notes! Plus, some fresh free goodies are up for grabs right now. To keep the Valentine’s Day spirit going, Embark has dropped an “explosive twist” in the Arenas of The Finals, alongside a few tweaks to iron out any kinks.
Embark announces “explosive twist” to Arenas in The Finals
After the release of version 5.8.0, Embark has announced they’re extending Valentine’s Day festivities with the World Tour event called “Love Hurts”. Essentially, this is their way of honoring the love-themed holiday, much like the explosive pie from that SpongeBob episode, but with bombs instead.
According to what the dev shared on Discord, when I get knocked out, I’ll leave behind a love-heart bomb. If left unattended, it’ll explode on its own. But if my teammates are smart, they can swoop in, pick it up, and chuck it towards our opponents before it goes off, causing some serious damage!

In addition to the above twist for Arenas, Embark has announced additional fixes for The Finals:

Fixed a bug where players would sometimes end up in the wrong server region
- Removed the ‘Eliminate 5 opponents from 30 meters or more using gadgets’ contract, as it is not working
The duration of the Valentine’s World Tour update isn’t specified, so be sure to savor it whenever you can until it finishes. Also, don’t forget to claim the free Valentine’s Day rewards on Twitch while they are still available.
