Exclusive Young Werther Poster Celebrates Digital Release

The upcoming movie “Young Werther,” designed by directors José Lourenço and artist Simon Wilkinson, will make its debut with an exclusive poster from ComingSoon. After its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, this latest romantic comedy is now available for rental or purchase on digital platforms as of today.

The design of the “Young Werther” poster resembles a love letter that might be found tucked away in someone’s pocket. An interesting aspect is that the actual text from the book, “The Sorrows of Young Werther,” was used as the background texture for the poster. This highlights the romantic theme of the movie, which will be available digitally for Valentine’s Day.

What is Young Werther about?

In the course of a casual trip to Toronto, an easygoing and captivating young scribe named Werther serendipitously encounters the woman he falls deeply for, alas, she is already betrothed. Ignoring the cautions of his overly anxious friend, Werther embarks on a chaotic, ill-advised, and amusing crusade to win her affection instead.

The film Young Werther was created by director José Avelino Gilles Corbett Lourenço, who drew inspiration from the 1774 novel “The Sorrows of Young Wether” by Johann Wolfgang Goethe. In this movie, Douglas Booth (from My Salinger Year) portrays the main character, while Alison Pill (known for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) plays Charlotte, Iris Apatow (This is 40) takes on Sissy, Patrick J. Adams (Suits) acts as Albert, Amrit Kaur (The Sex Lives of College Girls) performs Melanie, and Jaouhar Ben Ayed (No Man’s Land) brings Paul to life, among others.

Beyond taking the lead acting role, Booth was also involved in the production team as an executive producer, working alongside Jonathan Bross, Andy Wang, Dave Mepham, Matthew E. Chausse, Mason Novick, Joe Simpson, and Simon Williams. Joining them was Matt Code as a producer. Following its cinema debut in December, the film has garnered a Tomatometer rating of 70% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 23 critic reviews.
