As a gamer, I was captivated by Warden because it mirrors our real-life obsession with champions – how we idolize them, trust in their strength to rescue us, yet often overlook the perils lurking beneath. This game offered me an exciting chance to delve into ‘what if’ situations and creatively twist conventional genres, making it a perfect fit for my gaming preferences.

According to producer Sarah Kinga Smith, director Marcus Alqueres’ approach as a filmmaker is intense and thought-provoking, offering a novel perspective on modern society’s hunt for its required hero. Through a lens focused on performance, his storytelling reshapes the concept of heroism and dismantles conventional ideas about what it means to be a hero, inviting viewers to ponder the distinctions between the heroes we yearn for, the ones we fashion, and the ones we genuinely need in our world.
