Exclusive Transformers One Video: Keegan-Michael Key Talks Origin Story

As a seasoned gamer with a heart pounding for the Autobots, I can hardly contain my excitement as I gaze upon the glimmering chassis of Transformers One! Having traversed countless galaxies and battled countless foes, I’ve always yearned to uncover the untold tale that binds Optimus Prime and Megatron in an ironclad friendship turned bitter rivalry.


Looking forward to premiering a unique Transformers One video starring Keegan-Michael Key, who portrays B-127/Bumblebee in the upcoming animated movie. Key shares his enthusiasm about being part of the Transformers origin tale. The film will be available only in cinemas starting September 20, 2024, from Paramount Pictures.

“The film is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever,” reads the synopsis.

Who is in Transformers One?

The upcoming movie is known for being the first entirely computer-generated animation in the Transformers series. It boasts an impressive voice cast, with Chris Hemsworth portraying Orion/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry lending his voice to D-16/Megatron, Keegan-Michael Key voicing Bumblebee, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Jon Hamm taking on the role of Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Steve Buscemi giving life to Starscream.

In this case, the prequel is led by director Josh Cooley, who worked from a script penned by Andrew Barer, Steve Desmond, Gabriel Ferrari, and Michael Sherman. The project is overseen by executive producers Steven Spielberg, Zev Foreman, Olivier Dumont, Bradley J. Fischer, B.J. Farmer, and Matt Quigg. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem serve as its producers.
