As a hardcore horror enthusiast with a deep-rooted love for classic monster movies and a soft spot for practical effects, the upcoming film “The Yeti” has piqued my interest significantly. The talent behind this project, from the co-writers and co-directors to the creature designers, promises a chilling experience that harks back to the golden age of horror cinema.
ComingSoon can exclusively debut an animatic from a new monster movie called The Yeti.
The upcoming horror flick, titled “The Yeti,” hails from Torfoot Entertainment Group – a fresh production company co-founded by Johnathan Brownlee and Ross Meyerson. Principal photography kicks off this winter, with Jim Cummings set to lead the cast.

What do we know about The Yeti?
In the movie’s synopsis, we find that oil magnate Merriell Sunday Sr. and explorer Hollis Bannister have mysteriously vanished without a clue to their whereabouts, last seen in northern Alaska. Their daughters, Ellie Bannister and Merriell Sunday Jr., embark on a quest to locate their missing fathers and uncover the mystery of their disappearance. As they delve deeper into this icy wilderness, threats escalate. It seems that an ancient inhabitant has detected their intrusion… and now it’s tracking them, hunting them… The Yeti.
In collaboration, Gene Gallerano and William Pisciotta both contributed to the script and direction of The Yeti, whereas its creature’s appearance was designed by Wayne Anderson and Ali Gordon.
Jim Cummings is recognized for both directing and acting in the films Thunder Road (2018), The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020), and The Beta Test (2021). He also acted in Greener Grass (2019) and Halloween Kills (2021), as well as the movie The Last Stop in Yuma County (2023). Moreover, he made a guest appearance on an episode of Barry, which airs on HBO.
As a die-hard gamer, I’ve got a soft spot for chilling classics like Frankenstein and Dracula, but I’m also hooked on the modern thrills of movies like Nope and Barbarian. Just like those films, our movie puts the creature front and center. Most of the creature’s moments and action sequences you’ll see are done practically, straight in the camera. We’ve got an amazing special effects and stunt team that has earned awards, so you know it’s going to be a thrilling ride!
A release date for The Yeti has not yet been announced.
