The book titled “The Art and Making of Spellbound” was penned by Ramin Zahed, a distinguished Editor in Chief at Animation Magazine. Notably, Zahed has contributed to various publications such as Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Sight and Sound, among others. Additionally, he has authored books like “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse The Art of the Movie” and “The Art of Love, Death + Robots”, both published by Titan Books.

In a nutshell, “Spellbound” revolves around the thrilling journey of Ellian, a resilient young girl who is the daughter of Lumbria’s rulers. When an enigmatic spell turns her parents into monsters, she embarks on a perilous quest to rescue them and save her kingdom. This animated film, directed by Vicky Jenson (of Shrek fame), features music composed by Alan Menken, who won multiple awards including EGOT, and lyrics by Glenn Slater (Tangled). “Spellbound” is an animated production from Netflix and Skydance Animation, showcasing a stellar voice cast that includes Rachel Zegler, John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, Tituss Burgess, with Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman.
