As a gamer who has spent countless hours navigating through various virtual realities and alternate universes, I must say that the trailer for “Music for Mushrooms” has piqued my interest in a way no game ever could. The synopsis speaks to the power of art, spirituality, and introspection, something I’ve always found intriguing but never quite managed to grasp within the confines of a video game.
In an eagerness that’s hard to contain, ComingSoon is thrilled to unveil the trailer for the psychedelic documentary, “Music for Mushrooms,” which is soon to be released. This intriguing project is the brainchild of musician and filmmaker, East Forest (Krishna-Trevor Oswalt).
Beginning September 13, Area 23a will initiate the movie’s mixed theater release in New York at Angelika Village East and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Monica Film Center on October 4. For the rest of fall, it will feature a blend of regular screenings and special event showings. Q&As will take place in select cities like New York, LA, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Denver, and Chicago. Additionally, there’s a unique one-time screening scheduled for October 10 to celebrate World Mental Health Day.
“East Forest’s album, Music for Mushrooms, chronicles his unique adventure as he delves into the crossroads of music and psychedelics. This potent duo serves to catalyze transformative healing in a world that is progressively distressed. As a long-standing partner of the late Ram Dass, East Forest weaves shamanic rituals with guided trips, establishing settings where individuals can face their suffering and anxieties, rekindle optimism, and reestablish their inner guidance.” This is a paraphrased version of the original synopsis.
As a gamer immersed in virtual worlds, I’ve come across this film that takes me on a journey beyond pixels. It delves into the lives of people who’ve been deeply impacted by extraordinary experiences, offering a moving portrayal of art, spirituality, nature, and psychedelics as paths to healing. This movie is more than just a story; it’s an echo of my own soul, resonating with the power of self-discovery and transformation in times when anxiety and disconnection seem widespread.
