Today, the premiere of the 20-minute short film titled “Mildred 4 A Million” takes place at the NoHo 7 in North Hollywood, California. This movie stars five-time Emmy nominee Marla Gibbs. The event begins with a red carpet walk featuring Marla Gibbs, writer and director Kimmie P. Callaway, along with other cast members, starting at 7 p.m. The screening of the film followed by a Q&A session starts at 7:30 p.m.

Afterward, the short film is set to begin its qualifying theatrical release starting this coming Friday, September 27, at the Royal cinema in Los Angeles, with daily screenings scheduled for 3:10 p.m.

What is Mildred 4 A Million about?

In a touching comedy titled ‘Mildred 4 A Million,’ we follow the story of a lively, elderly woman named Mildred who yearns to bond with her tech-addicted great-granddaughter. To achieve this, she embarks on an ambitious journey aiming to amass a million followers on TikTok.

In her role as Florence Johnston on CBS’s The Jeffersons, which ran from 1975 to 1985, Gibbs garnered five Emmy nominations. Additionally, she graced various television shows like Checking In, 227, 101 Dalmatians: The Series, The Hughleys, Passions, The First Family, Days of Our Lives, and others.

In the list of movies that Gibbs has been involved in, you’ll find “The Meteor Man” from 1993, “Lost & Found” from 1999, “Madea’s Witness Protection” in 2012, “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” released in 2019, and more recently, “Spirit Halloween: The Movie” from 2022. There are other titles on this list as well.

Mildred 4 A Million features Brie Eley, Juliah Ashley Mitchell, Hayley Keown, and Obriella Genesis Witron alongside Gibbs. Jason Serrato also produces, while the original music is created by Jose ‘Choco’ Reynoso and Ben Nix-Bradley. At the end of the short film, Gibbs’ “It’s Never Too Late” jazz song is played during the closing credits.
