Exclusive Lumina Trailer Announces Sci-Fi Horror Comedy Movie’s Return to Theaters

As a die-hard fan of sci-fi horror comedies, I can hardly contain my excitement for the return of “Lumina“! Having grown up watching B-movies and devouring every bit of UFO conspiracy theories, this film seems like it was tailor-made for me. The trailer alone has sent shivers down my spine and left me yearning for more.

In a unique first, ComingSoon will unveil a trailer premiere for the upcoming 2024 sci-fi horror comedy film, Lumina, which is set to grace the big screen once again in September.

In simpler terms, the movie titled “Lumina” is helmed by director Gino J.H. McKoy. It features the talents of Eric Roberts, Ken Lawson, among others. This film made its debut in cinemas back in July 2024.

Starting September 20, 2024, the movie is coming back to more than 50 theaters across the U.S. and Canada, as announced by Goldove Entertainment.

What is Lumina about?

The movie narrates an intense tale about a band of friends who are also conspiracy theorists, embarking on a dangerous expedition to the Nevada desert in pursuit of uncovering the truth about a supposed Deep Underground Military Base (DUMB). However, rather than finding answers, they encounter a horrifying series of events shrouded in mystery and otherworldly interactions that ultimately transform them.

In a statement, McKoy expressed his excitement about re-releasing the movie, stating that the fans’ voices have been heard. As Halloween approaches, they’re eager to maintain the positive energy and are hopeful that this film will eventually be recognized as a cult classic by an even broader audience.

In addition to Roberts, Lawson, and others, the film also features Rupert Lazarus, Eleanor Williams, Andrea Tivadar, and Sidney Nicole Rogers as its stars.

In a unique interview, McKoy shared insights about the film, explaining that he penned the initial draft in just seven days at his uncle’s house in Florida. His focus was on delving into the psychological repercussions of abduction. If someone you care for is taken, how would such an event psychologically impact them, and how far would they go to rescue that person? The narrative primarily revolves around Alex leading a group of friends on a mission to save the one he loves, along with their friend, during this journey, encountering various experiences related to aliens and UFOs. This experience, coupled with meetings with individuals from MUFON (Mutual UFO Network), ex-military personnel, and former Black Ops Marines who shared their accounts of alien encounters and UFO phenomena, further sparked his inspiration.

Lumina returns to select theaters in the United States and Canada on September 20, 2024.
