Exclusive Giallofest 2024 Trailer Celebrates History of Classic Italian Genre

As a die-hard horror enthusiast who’s spent countless nights huddled under blankets while watching classics like “Psycho” and “The Exorcist”, I can hardly contain my excitement for Giallofest 2024! Growing up, I was captivated by the unique blend of suspense, horror, and eroticism that the Italian giallo genre offered. The thought of having seven iconic films from this genre at my fingertips is almost too good to be true!

Next year, ComingSoon will unveil a special preview for the inaugural streamed film festival titled “Giallofest 2024“, organized by IndiePix Unlimited.

When is Giallofest 2024?

Starting December 13, 2024, IndiePix Unlimited on Prime Video Channels plans to commemorate cult classics by organizing a streaming event featuring seven timeless movies from this unique genre, which will be accessible for viewing.

The movies involved in the festival include:

  • Libido (1965)
  • Death Laid an Egg (1968)
  • So Sweet, So Perverse (1969)
  • The Psychic (1977)
  • Tenebrae (1982)
  • Phenomena (1985)
  • Aenigma (1987)

2024’s Giallofest will be a festival honoring the Italian Giallo genre, a type of murder mystery that peaked in popularity during the 1960s-70s. This genre is notable for combining the tense mood and intrigue of thrillers with aspects of horror and sensuality.

As a movie buff who’s deeply into horror, I can’t help but notice a pattern in films like “Torso,” “Deep Red,” “Blow Out,” and the chilling “Suspiria.” These all fall under the category of giallo – a genre that has produced some truly legendary directors. Names like Silvio Amadio, Dario Argento, Mario Bava, and Luigi Bazzoni are synonymous with this thrilling realm.

IndiePix Unlimited, located in New York City, functions as a distributor for independent films. At present, they offer a Prime Video Channel where movie enthusiasts can sign up for a monthly subscription to access numerous movies. This service costs $5.99 per month.
