For the upcoming EVO Japan 2025 event, the registration deadline passed this week, revealing some preliminary statistics about the total number of participants. On its Start.gg platform, a total of 8,648 players are currently registered for the event, though this figure may fluctuate due to players dropping out or registering for multiple tournaments. This number is significantly higher than the 6,797 entrants recorded for EVO Japan 2024. Notably, approximately 6,536 registrants seem to be signed up for Street Fighter 6, as reported by FGC Liquidpedia editor and reviewer incross, a report that was not disputed by EVO lead Rick “TheHadou” Thiher.
