Evil Dead Burn has received a big update.
The upcoming movie, titled “Evil Dead Rise,” will mark the sixth installment in the Evil Dead film series. This horror flick is helmed by director Sébastien Vaniček and features a talented cast that includes Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Souheila Yacoub, and Tandi Wright.
What is the Evil Dead Burn update?
On Instagram, Vaniček posted an update saying that the production of Evil Dead 6 has started. He also uploaded a few exclusive photos from the film set, among them is a picture showing the movie’s logo, which you can see further down.

At present, specific plot details for “Evil Dead Rise” are being kept confidential. However, director Lee Vaniček previously hinted to the French site Konbini that the movie will be “gruesome.
He clarified that he shared with the production studio his intention to create a challenging film, one that is intense and leaves viewers questioning themselves. He plans to pour all his inner turmoil into this project for a therapeutic effect. If he manages to achieve this without damaging his career, he intends to explore different genres beyond horror in the future.
In the upcoming scene, “Evil Dead Burn” marks Vaniček’s second foray into feature films. His first time behind the camera was for the 2023 French horror film titled “Infested,” which centered around an overwhelming invasion of gigantic spiders.
Buchanan shared with Collider his thoughts about the upcoming Evil Dead film, stating, “I’ve seen all the previous Evil Dead films, and when I read the script, it felt unlike any of them before. The director has added a unique touch to it, which really excited me. I found the script fascinating. The actors are exceptional, but I’ll stop there for now.
To date, the Evil Dead series comprises five films: The original from 1981 titled The Evil Dead, followed by Evil Dead II in 1987, Army of Darkness in 1993, a reboot in 2013 simply called Evil Dead, and an upcoming film in 2023 named Evil Dead Rise. Additionally, there was a TV series, Ash vs Evil Dead, which ran for three seasons, and a seventh movie is also being planned.
Evil Dead Burn will be released on July 24, 2026.
