Khazan, The First Berserker: This character is packed with numerous systems and elements that significantly alter the usual experience found in games similar to Soulslike, while maintaining the pulse-pounding gameplay and thrilling confrontations that require you to use all your skills and resources to come out on top.
In this collection, you’ll find Skills that enhance your combat skills when using your preferred weapon, pushing your abilities to an even higher level. However, it’s important to note that Skills work in a way that might initially seem unusual, which could cause some confusion at first!
How To Earn Skill Points
In The First Berserker: Khazan, you accumulate Skill Points automatically as you play the game. By successfully executing perfect parries, employing your skills effectively, and vanquishing enemies, you progressively fill up your Master Level meter, which is conveniently located on the Skill Tree page’s upper right corner.
Although you’re able to monitor your advancement, there may be times when you won’t be able to accumulate Skill Points until you finish a particular Main Mission. During these instances, you might encounter difficulties because, while you can still gather Lacrima and boost your Main Level and stats, your Mastery Level and the acquisition of new skills will remain unchanged until you clear that mission.
The “Mastery Level Limit” serves to ensure that your abilities stay aligned with the required skill level for the main mission. This prevents you from becoming excessively powerful before facing off against them. Once you’ve defeated the area’s boss, though, the “Mastery Level Limit” will be increased. You’ll then start earning more Skill Points until you reach the next level cap!

Spending Skill Points

Once you’ve advanced to a higher Expertise Level, you’ll receive a single Ability Point as a prize. This point can then be utilized to explore the Skill Tree and invest it in any of the Skills offered. There are four distinct categories available: Dual Wield, Greatsword, Spear, and General. While the weapon-related Skills will only function for their respective weapons, the General tab encompasses universal Skills that can be applied regardless of your chosen weapon.
Each ability or skill within the game requires a single ‘Skill Token’ for acquisition. Some of these skills can be enhanced further by investing additional tokens, allowing you to access unique attributes or boost their effectiveness. It is advisable to specialize in one weapon type and focus on its associated skill tree and the general one. However, if you intend to wield multiple weapons, you may explore various skill trees to a limited extent.
As an avid gamer, I wouldn’t want you to miss out on enhancing your Common Skills either. They boast a great deal of potential and can significantly boost your expertise in areas like Reflection, Javelin, Counterattack, and numerous other aspects. Although weapon-focused Skills tend to have a more pronounced overall effect, Common Skills can be equally beneficial. So, don’t forget to allocate some of your precious Skill Points towards them as well!
Resetting Skill Points
It’s convenient that you can easily reset Skill Points, which means you can either discard certain Skills or start fresh with all Skill Points returned, making it simple to adjust your build. This is particularly useful for those who want to switch to a different type of weapon, as you can transfer points from the Spear Tree and reallocate them all in the Greatsword Tree.
The fantastic thing is, it won’t cost you a dime to discard or restart your skills. To accomplish this, navigate to your Skill Menu, then hover over the skill you wish to disregard and press ‘Triangle/Y’ to ‘Unlearn’ that particular skill. If you want to start afresh on the entire page, pressing the ‘Left Analog Stick’ will present a confirmation menu; selecting ‘OK’ will reset all the Skill Points you spent on that specific page back to you.
We highly suggest making frequent use of this particular feature, regardless if you’re sticking with your existing weaponry. The more you enhance your Mastery Level, the greater the number of skills that will be accessible to you, potentially leading you to explore new avenues. What’s more, with this feature, you can experiment without any concerns about resource depletion or similar issues!
