The battles with The Everdark Sovereign in Elden Ring: Nightreign represent the ultimate test. These enhanced and extended fights against the Nightlords push your gaming knowledge to its limits. Importantly, these encounters are temporary events, appearing and disappearing from the weekly Expedition rotation. Here is the current schedule for Everdark Sovereign battles:

Everdark Sovereign schedule and rotation
Starting from June 18, 2025, the regular cycle of Everdark Sovereign Expeditions commenced without a fixed end date. As long as significant endgame-altering changes don’t arrive in Nightriegn, these battles will likely be the toughest encounters within the game. The schedule for the Everdark Sovereign updates adjusts with each weekly reset.

Each week, you get a chance to take on one Everdark Sovereign. Every Wednesday at 6:00 PM Pacific Time, a new challenge arises. This timing aligns with the unexpected appearance of the first Everdark Sovereign fight, specifically against Adel, the Night Baron, known as Gaping Jaw.
Each battle against the Everdark Sovereign is significantly tougher than the standard encounter. You’ll encounter fresh attacks, a larger health reserve, increased damage, and novel mechanics. These elements will require you to think quickly and adapt, and it may take several attempts before you eventually emerge victorious.
On days one and two, it’s fortunate they operate similarly to standard Expeditions, but it’s crucial to fine-tune your route through the map. This involves gathering flask enhancements and weapons that exploit the boss’s vulnerabilities, and most importantly, boosting your character’s level to the maximum possible.
Optimal Expedition paths often adopt a winding path resembling a spiral, starting by conquering the outlying camps first, taking down evergaols and territory leaders as they appear. As the region contracts, explore the central castle if accessible. If the inhabitants are Crucible Knights or Banished Knights, clear as much space as you can. This not only yields a substantial XP boost but also provides valuable loot from many of these foes.
As an enthusiast, I always recommend participating in the Shifting Earth event when it’s available. Every edge counts in our quest for success!
It seems there hasn’t been any official word about an Everdark variant of Heolstor, Nightreign’s ultimate final boss. Given that FromSoftware aims to astonish and entertain with Nightreign’s additional content after launch, it’s conceivable that something unexpected could still be in store.
