Evangelion and McDonalds are doing a collab?

As a long-time gamer and die-hard anime fan with memories of watching Evangelion for the first time etched into my mind, I must say that this McDonald’s collaboration has sent waves of excitement coursing through me! The idea of having Evangelion mecha figures transforming into iconic McDonald’s items is a brilliant fusion of two worlds I hold dear.

It appears that leaked information indicates that McDonald’s is planning to team up with Neon Genesis Evangelion in the near future, featuring mechanical figures that transform into food products from McDonald’s.

The McDonalds and Evangelion collaboration

On December 17, McDonald’s Japan shared a cryptic image on their social media accounts with the simple caption in bold letters: “Announcement.

It didn’t take long for folks to spot the copyright details at the picture’s bottom-left corner, which included ‘Project EVA’ and ‘Studio Khara’, the studio known for creating Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Just one day past, on December 18th, a post revealing a leak about the collaboration was uploaded to Reddit.

The partnership kicks off on January 20th, featuring three Evangelion-themed mechs as part of the collection. What makes these action figures unique is their ability to transform into popular McDonald’s menu items – a Big Mac, some fries, and a beverage.

These figures are approximately priced at $25 USD. Japanese fans have the opportunity to participate in a lottery through the McDonald’s app, giving them a shot at purchasing these figures.

The lottery starts on December 19th, but you can purchase tickets only between January 20th and January 26th.

Devoted Evangelion enthusiasts may find it necessary to arrange an impromptu journey to Japan, should they wish to secure these figurines.
