ETHGlobal Hackathon: Crypto Dominates as 10 Finalists Showcase Gaming, AI Agents, and DAO Tools

As a seasoned crypto investor with a penchant for blockchain technology and its transformative potential, attending ETHGlobal’s Bangkok hackathon was nothing short of exhilarating. The sheer energy and brilliance displayed by the developers showcased the uncharted territories that this industry continues to explore.

ETHGlobal, a company specializing in Ethereum-related events, recently hosted a hackathon following Devcon in the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand. This gathering brought together some of the most brilliant minds from the realm of blockchain technology, under the umbrella of ETHGlobal.

Based on accounts from the meeting, it was revealed that a group of evaluators scrutinized approximately 713 proposals submitted by different programmers. These programmers were vying to secure a portion of the $750,000 reward pool that ETHGlobal had established for this specific competition.

Remarkably, the prize surpassed all previous records at ETHGlobal. As a result, developers brought out their best work, showcasing incredible feats in gaming, artificial intelligence, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and other areas, as they competed fiercely to win.

Projects in Gaming and DAOs Lead the Way at Latest ETHGlobal Hackathon

At the recent event over the weekend, the panel of judges consisted of well-known figures within the industry, including Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, and Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave. Out of the ten projects that caught the judges’ attention during the selection process, a common theme emerged: gaming.

As a researcher exploring the innovative applications of blockchain technology, I’ve found myself immersed in a fascinating world where creativity meets cutting-edge tech. Among the standout contenders in this realm is the entertainment sector, with four exceptional gaming projects making it to the finals. These groundbreaking projects are none other than Metaloot, LootGO, BubbleWars, and Dark Factory, each demonstrating unique ways blockchain is revolutionizing our experience within the gaming world.

A different group of projects that gained attention were those known as Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) tools, designed to enhance the performance of DAOs. Two significant projects in this area are MiniDAO and DAOGenie. MiniDAO manages wallets collaboratively through a Telegram bot, while DAOGenie utilizes artificial intelligence for automated tasks like making purchases, donations, and carrying out group decisions based on votes.

AI Agents and Blockchain Infrastructure Innovations Also Feature

Beyond gaming and Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) tools, AI integration stood out as another significant success. Despite a smaller number of projects in this category, Industry.ai, which features four AI agents working collaboratively to manage intricate blockchain operations, was prominently recognized among the finalists.

Following the recent review, I’ve noticed that ETHGlobal judge Will Binns hinted at two emerging trends in the crypto world – tokenization and AI agents. These insights seem to be a result of his experiences during the review process. As a base core developer and an investor, I find these trends particularly intriguing as they could significantly shape the future landscape of our crypto investments.
