ETERNO Launches in Lisbon with Vhils’ ‘Threshold’ Exhibition

Summary

  • ETERNO, a new phygital gallery, has opened in Marvila, Lisbon.
  • The gallery is currently hosting Threshold, a new exhibition by acclaimed Portuguese artist Vhils, now on view through August 2.
  • Spanning two floors, the show features a selection of physical and digital works to view and collect, marking a new era in the artist’s “LAYERS” project.

ETERNO, the newest digital-centric art venue, has just joined the bustling Marvila district of Lisbon. To mark this occasion, the gallery is showcasing a groundbreaking phygital exhibition by renowned artist Alexandre Farto, also known as Vhils.

Titled “Threshold“, this exhibition signifies a fresh phase in the “LAYERS” project by the Portuguese artist. Spread over two levels, the show navigates the borderland of demolition and construction, visibility and obliteration – some of the conflicts that define the artist’s work. The upper level presents a mix of billboard-inspired works, prints, and dynamic pieces, while the lower floor offers video projections to create a more enveloping experience.

Alongside appreciating physical art pieces, Threshold provides a chance to digitally acquire works via the ETERNO’s web-based service. Established in 2021 by Cultural Affairs and VIC Properties, ETERNO aims to investigate the growing bond between artistic expression and technology – encompassing exhibition curation, NFT releases, and virtual experiences.

Currently, you can see the exhibit titled “Threshold” in Lisbon until August 2nd. For further details, please visit the platform’s site.
