Epic Games accidentally revealed the Marvel Rivals release date, and it’s taking place in December

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that I’ve been eagerly anticipating Marvel Rivals since its initial announcement. The prospect of an Overwatch-like co-op shooter set within the expansive Marvel Universe has me practically salivating at the thought.

The eagerly awaited cooperative shooter game, Marvel Rivals (similar to Overwatch), created by NetEase Games, has been generating significant buzz since the beta test ended in July. Even though the development team hasn’t announced a release date yet, Epic Games accidentally leaked the release date before its official unveiling at Gamescom.

Based on an Insider Gaming article, Epic Games previously announced (on a now-removed post, which was likely on Twitter) that Marvel Rivals would be releasing on December 6, 2024. Excitingly, every character in the game will be unlocked and ready for play right from launch, with no additional costs beyond what’s needed to get started.

Due to a small error, the release date for Marvel Rivals wasn’t disclosed during Gamescom opening night live as initially planned. However, now that we know when it will be released, you can get ready on your preferred platform, whether it’s PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC. Keep in mind that it’ll probably require a good amount of storage space since it will only be available on current-generation consoles.
