The trailer for “Emilia Pérez” showcases Saldaña’s character Rita, while Emilia herself is portrayed by Karla Sofía Gascón. It offers glimpses of the movie’s extravagant song sequences and unveils fresh views of Gomez’s character Jessi as well.

The film “Emilia Pérez,” directed by the daring filmmaker Jacques Audiard, is a genre-bending, mind-bending tale. It’s about four extraordinary women in Mexico who embark on their own unique journeys to find happiness. Emilia (Karla Sofía Gascón), a powerful cartel leader, recruits Rita (Zoe Saldaña), a disheartened lawyer trapped in a monotonous job, to help orchestrate her death so she can embrace her true identity. Through powerful songs, energetic dance sequences, and striking visuals, this story unfolds as an odyssey of self-discovery and transformation.

In addition to the main actors, Adriana Paz portrays Epifanía and Edgar Ramírez takes on the role of Gustavo. The film is produced by Pascal Caucheteux, Audiard, Valérie Schermann, and Anthony Vaccarello, with Pauline Lamy acting as executive producer. Original songs and the score are composed by Clément Ducol and Camille for Emilia Pérez’s movie.

On November 1, 2024, the movie will debut in selected cinemas across the U.S. and Canada. Starting from November 13, 2024, it’ll be available for streaming on Netflix.
