The narrative of Emakku Thozhil Romance centers on the life of Umashankar, who is an associate director along with his companions Senthil and Sharanya. He develops feelings for nurse Leona, yet she initially rejects his proposal. Nevertheless, she chooses to remain instead of departing for Delhi. Concurrently, Sharanya learns that her boyfriend Prashanth is moving to America, resulting in her becoming pregnant.
At the hospital, a miscommunication led Leona to think Umashankar had deceived her. To set the record straight, Sharanya enlisted the help of aspiring actor Vetri, who took on the role of Prashanth, thereby helping Leona and Umashankar reconcile.
At my sister’s grand wedding, I, Leona, unwittingly extended an invitation to Vetri, causing quite a stir when his fiancée exposed his deception. Feeling duped once more, I decided to exit the festivities. Later, Umashankar’s father managed to convince me of his genuine affection. However, during this tumultuous time, his family erroneously believed me to be smitten with nurse Kavya and manipulated a situation for us to agree to marry. Upon learning the truth, Leona discovered her feelings for him and sealed it with a heartfelt kiss.
