Elon Musk sues Twitch for alleged advertising boycott

As someone who has witnessed the rollercoaster ride that is the digital age, I must confess, Elon Musk’s latest move to sue Twitch leaves me more bewildered than ever. It’s as if we’re watching a real-life version of a conspiracy theory unfold right before our eyes.

Elon Musk believes it isn’t poor performance by X (previously Twitter), but rather a conspiracy, that is causing the drop in ad revenue. As a result, he intends to take legal action against Twitch.

Lately, there was a buzz that Stephen King supposedly got banned from Twitter or another platform, due to him calling Elon Musk “The First Lady of the United States”. But upon closer inspection, it turned out that this wasn’t true at all.

Stephen King has stated that the reason he hasn’t joined Twitter/X yet is simply because he hadn’t come up with a suitable joke to introduce himself with initially. Regardless, his lack of personal humor has led him to lose any desire to participate on Twitter/X.

However, it’s unnecessary to spread unfounded stories as CEO Elon Musk often finds himself in bizarre circumstances quite independently.

The latest spectacle in Musk’s series of questionable actions is his attempt to sue Twitch, claiming they are part of a conspiracy to withhold advertising from his platform.

Drastically declining ad revenue on X

Ever since Elon Musk assumed control, Twitter/X has been grappling with a decrease in ad revenue. This predicament can largely be attributed to his actions and leadership style. The dismissal of numerous employees and the reinstatement of controversial accounts have caused some advertisers to lose confidence and cease their advertising on the platform.

True to Elon Musk’s character, he retorted to the departing advertisers by saying something akin to, “I suggest you find another direction.” This statement, in essence, supported the companies’ choices.

Musk believes in a plot

Previously in August, Elon Musk initiated a legal action against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), citing similar issues. The objective of this alliance was to strengthen online safety and eradicate offensive content across digital platforms.

To accomplish this goal, they aimed to exert pressure on social media networks where such content might be shared and propagated. Notably, a platform such as X – infamous for allowing misinformation and frequently inflammatory content – was a focal point for the campaign. However, unfortunately, GARM ceased operations due to the substantial legal expenses resulting from Musk’s lawsuit. Nevertheless, the CEO of X persists in claiming that underhanded deals were struck to deny his company tens of billions in advertising revenue.

Musk’s true goals

As a gamer, I can say from my own perspective that experts view this legal squabble as not holding much promise. However, they strongly suspect Elon Musk’s main objective here is to tarnish the reputation of the companies in question and create chaos within the broader economy of the advertising industry.

What do you think about the lawsuit? What are your opinions on Musk’s behavior?
