As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but chuckle at Elon Musk’s latest grand idea – an AI game studio. It’s like watching a toddler banging on piano keys, expecting Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony to emerge.
When Elon Musk isn’t expressing opinions on political matters that some find questionable, he often shares ideas that might seem far-fetched to others. Lately, it appears he has set his sights on the gaming industry, proposing what seems like another intriguing yet transient project of his.
Elon Musk wants to make AI game studio
On November 27th, Elon Musk responded to a tweet by Dogecoin co-creator Billy Markus, who questioned: “I can’t grasp how game creators and gaming media have been influenced ideologically.
“Gamers have always rejected dumb manipulative BS, and can tell when someone is an outsider poser.”
Musk expressed concern that the gaming industry has grown too politically correct, being dominated by large corporations, and he believes that games are no longer created primarily for gamers. It’s almost comical that there is a list available of games containing “woke” content – this isn’t a joke.
In a response to Markus, Elon Musk expressed his intention to launch an AI-focused game studio, saying “xAI will revitalize game development“. However, it seems he may have overlooked the irony in this statement, as it appears to be a contradiction considering that he is associated with large corporations.
A high number of video game studios are controlled by large corporations. However, @xAI plans to launch an AI-focused game studio, aiming to bring excellence back to the gaming world!

Essentially, Musk, who currently holds the title of the world’s wealthiest individual, is expressing his belief that xAI, his burgeoning corporation which already boasts over 100,000 Nvidia GPUs, will revolutionize the gaming industry, currently dominated by large corporations, through the application of artificial intelligence.
He also stated in another post that game developers should “skip the woke lecture” and “just make good games.”
Can they just make good games and skip the woke lecture?? wtf

It seems quite improbable that Elon Musk will follow through with this seemingly spontaneous concept. Moreover, he hasn’t provided any clarity on his reference to an “AI game studio,” leaving us uncertain whether the entire production process would involve AI or if it’s limited to certain aspects such as audio or visual design.
If he indeed develops a game with his studio, there’s little doubt it might struggle to gain popularity, given that even large companies like Netflix and Google have faced challenges in the gaming industry when attempting to create successful games.
