Does the Pixar movie “Elio” have a scene after the credits like many other films do these days? The new animated film follows a young boy who unintentionally becomes Earth’s ambassador to an alien civilization, combining Pixar’s trademark warmth with a fresh sci-fi touch. With audiences now accustomed to watching until the very end of the credits, one question on everyone’s mind is whether “Elio” will also include a scene after the credits.
Here’s what we know about whether Elio has a post-credits, mid-credits, or after-credits scene.
Is there a post, mid, or end-credits scene in Elio?
Absolutely! In the movie “Elio”, not one but two scenes are shown after the main credits have rolled – a mid-credit scene followed by an end-credit scene. So, make sure to stay seated until the very end if you want to catch both these interesting moments.
At a pre-release viewing of the latest Pixar adventure, a bonus scene was included midway through the credits that continued the film’s ending. Additionally, there was an added hint after all the credits and studio logos appeared for the final time, hinting at the premiere of Pixar’s upcoming original movie, Hoppers, set to hit theaters on March 6, 2026.
In this freshly released film, Adrian Molina, Domee Shi, and Madeline Sharafian collaborated as co-directors. The lead role is played by Yonas Kibreab, who encounters extraterrestrials in the story, while Zoe Saldaña portrays Aunt Olga.
The creation of Elio was an imaginative voyage that mirrored the movie itself. Initially revealed at the 2022 D23 Expo with Adrian Molina as both writer and director, the narrative was envisioned as a profoundly personal coming-of-age story, born out of feelings of adolescent isolation. Later on, Molina decided to leave the project, and Domee Shi, director of Turning Red, along with story artist Madeline Sharafian, took charge.
Drawing inspiration from Spielberg’s sci-fi and ’70s horror films like E.T., Alien, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Elio’s work is steeped in a cinematic style characterized by dreamy illuminations, dramatic shadows, and tactile lens effects. This visual approach offers a unique blend of nostalgic charm and groundbreaking originality.
Elio beams into theaters on June 20, 2025.
