In an upcoming development, ComingSoon looks forward to unveiling a stunning Bookworm poster, beautifully crafted by artist Brianna Ashby – the art director of the digital film magazine Bright Wall/Dark Room. The star-studded family adventure movie features Elijah Wood from The Lord of the Rings and Nell Fisher (Evil Dead Rise). Ant Timpson directs this production, which is now playing in select theaters and can also be streamed on demand, courtesy of Vertical Entertainment.

What is Bookworm about?

The movie synopsis revolves around the story of Mildred, a book-loving 11-year-old girl, who experiences a dramatic shift when her long-absent father, Strawn Wise (played by Elijah Wood), an ex-illusionist from Las Vegas, reemerges. In their past, Mildred had a magical encounter with the enchanting Strawn which led to her mother moving back to New Zealand. An unexpected incident lands Strawn in charge of Mildred while her mother is hospitalized. Their initial escapade? A camping trip aimed at tracking down the legendary Canterbury Panther. As this unlikely pair venture through the wilderness, perform magic tricks, and embark on a remarkable journey, laughter abounds, and they may discover a means to reconnect their family.

The film “Bookworm” was written by Toby Howard based on a story idea he and Ant Timpson developed. Timpson is the director, and Michael Smiley joins Wood and Fisher in the cast. Emma Slade, Roxi Bull, Victoria Dabbs, Mette-Marie Kongsved, and Laura Tunstall serve as producers.

Bookworm has a runtime of 103 minutes.
