Elder Scrolls Online Shocks Fans by Making Paid Feature Free for All Players!

Bethesda notched a significant success by stealth-releasing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and it appears they’re building on that momentum. Their MMO title in The Elder Scrolls series, The Elder Scrolls Online, is transforming Scribing, a premium feature, into a complimentary one for all users through the Crown Store. This change will be accompanied by the Golden Pursuit around mid-July and is set to debut early during testing phase. This move will integrate the Scribing feature into the core game of The Elder Scrolls Online, making it more accessible for both new and returning players to acquire the Scribing system.

Starting April 28th, you’ll find Scribing in the Crown Store, but it won’t be for sale; instead, it comes with a Golden Pursuit. If you miss out on the Golden Pursuit, you can still get Scribing from the Crown Store later. However, between June and July, there will be a brief period where players can neither buy nor access Scribing as Bethesda makes this change to the base game during that time.

In The Elder Scrolls Online, there’s a feature called Scribing that enables players to design personalized skills for their characters. This is reminiscent of the custom spells in Oblivion Remastered. Earlier, this system was only accessible after completing the Gold Road Chapter and providing players with an exclusive questline. By obtaining potent Grimoires and tailoring them, players could unlock unique abilities.

Bethesda has garnered much positive sentiment with their release of the Oblivion Remaster, and this move signals another progressive step. The Elder Scrolls Online is gearing up for the start of part one of The Seasons of the Worm Cult on June 2nd. This move aims to attract more players to the game and better equip them for the forthcoming content in the game.
