As a seasoned adventurer who’s traversed Tamriel’s vast landscapes countless times, the prospect of revisiting Cyrodiil in a remastered Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is beyond exhilarating! I remember my first encounter with the game back in 2006, the awe-inspiring immersion, the endless hours spent exploring dungeons and battling Daedra. If this leak by Extas1s is to be believed, I’ll get another chance to wield the Hero of Kvatch’s sword once more!
A source claims that “The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion” could both be unveiled and launched as early as next year.
In 2022, whispers about a revamp of “The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion” emerged following the revelation that the game might be re-created during the Federal Trade Commission’s probe into Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard. The papers suggested the game would come out in 2022, however, it never materialized as planned.
Up until this point, if we believe the word of the source known as Extas1s who claims that the remake is indeed underway, and there are rumors suggesting it may be unveiled during an Xbox Direct event in January 2025.
Previously, it was speculated that Virtuos might be working on the game and that Unreal Engine 5 would play a role in its development.
Given that no official word has been given on the game by any likely parties yet, consider this leak as unverified for now. We’ll share more concrete details as soon as they become available.
