Elden Ring stayed in Twitch's Top 10 through July 2024

As a seasoned gamer who’s seen the rise and fall of countless games, I must say, Elden Ring has truly outshone many in its class. Being a single-player game, it’s impressive to see it hold its ground in Twitch’s Top 10 for three consecutive months. It’s like a lone traveler navigating the Erdtree, refusing to be lost amidst the chaos of multiplayer dominance.

Even though the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was released in June 2024, it continued to captivate many players throughout most of July. In fact, as per the StreamElements State of the Stream report for July 2024, Elden Ring consistently ranked among Twitch’s Top 10 games, making it one of only a few single-player games that have maintained a spot in this prestigious list for two consecutive months.

In July 2024, StreamElements, working alongside its analytics partner Rainmaker.gg, released their report, titled “State of the Stream July 2024.” This month proved intriguing for Twitch, as it could have experienced a decrease in hours streamed if not for the surge of the Special Events topic. Content creator Ibai played a significant role in this upward trend with his La Velada del Año influencer boxing event contributing to the growth.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but notice the consistent presence of Elden Ring in Twitch’s Top 10. This game has managed to stay there for three consecutive months since the May State of the Stream report, and it’s still holding strong in June’s Top 10. That’s quite rare for a game that focuses mainly on a single-player experience. Games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have made it to the Twitch Top 10 before, but maintaining that position for two months, let alone three, is an entirely different ballgame.

Although Elden Ring’s popularity has dipped by 54% since June 2024, it remains a widely played and viewed game that we are actively enjoying with our community through Eldenvania. It’s uncertain if Elden Ring will lose its appeal in August due to the excitement surrounding games like Black Myth: Wukong.
