In their ongoing mission to keep us waiting, FromSoftware has unveiled a fresh character trailer for Elden Ring titled Nightreign. This time around, we meet the Raider – a rather bold figure armed with an oversized stone lollipop and known for his powerful uppercuts, headbutting enemies, and questionable drinking habits. He also possesses the unique skill of summoning walls, one of which is demonstrated in the trailer as both a platform for archery and a launching pad for devastating plunging attacks. ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN | Raider Character Trailer
In the trailer, they showcase the Raiders impressive strength extensively, culminating in him mercilessly dominating a weak Demi-Human Queen – a character known for being particularly cruel to defeat. This villain is similar to Elden Ring’s take on limping Sif from Dark Souls, who was not defeated but more so euthanized, leaving players with a sense of discomfort and sadness. Oh well, I suppose someone needs to be defeated.
The game “Neightreign” is expected to release at the end of next month – specifically on May 30th. This was hinted in the trailer where they promoted a stylish collector’s edition. However, spending money on such a collector’s edition for a game that might become offline and thus unplayable within four years isn’t something I prioritize right now, despite my anticipation for “Neightreign.” I acknowledge that FromSoftware’s ventures into multiplayer-focused titles may diminish some of the charm from their previous works. For the time being, you can indulge in smooth cooperative play with the game “Dark Souls.
