Elden Ring Nightreign Enhanced Darkdrift Knight Release Date Revealed

A comprehensive overview of the advanced Darkdrift Knight character in Elden Ring Nightreign, covering his release date and other key details.

The boss battles in Elden Ring Nightreign stand out as one of the game’s most captivating aspects, a trait that’s not unexpected from creators like FromSoftware. Although the original bosses were tough, they didn’t quite reach the level of difficulty we’ve come to expect. This is made clear by the introduction of the latest Everdark Sovereign Expeditions. With their most recent update, FromSoftware has added these new Everdark Sovereign Expeditions to the game, making it even more challenging for players.

This unique expedition showcases enhanced iterations of the original game’s bosses, known as Nightlords. Much like a game that offers continuous service, these bosses undergo a weekly change in rotation. The first empowered boss introduced was Adel, who goes by the name “Gaping Jaw” – Empowered Adel (Gaping Jaw).

As we approach the weekly reset with the Expedition, we now have information about the new boss taking over. In the imminent Everdark Sovereign, players will battle an enhanced version of the character known as Fulghor (Darkdrift Knight). Here’s what you should know regarding the Enhanced Darkrift Knight encounter in Elden Ring Nightreign and its release date.

Reminder: The content of this article includes small revelations concerning the third phase and fighting techniques of the Upgraded Darkdrift Knight.

Hey there fellow gamers! Mark your calendars for June 26, 2025, at 7 PM PDT because Fulghor, the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight (Champion of Nightglow) is joining our game world in the Everdark Sovereign!

No need to worry about any new patches or regulations for this one. The boss has already been integrated into the game with the last update. Instead, the old boss, Adel, Baron of Night, will be replaced by the Darkdrift Knight in the Expeditions menu. But remember, before you can dive into the Everdark Sovereign with Fulghor, you’ve got to defeat the regular version of the boss first! Keep honing those skills and let’s conquer together!

Should you encounter difficulties with Fulghor, we strongly advise employing weapons that produce lightning. As for the ideal Nightfarers to tackle the boss, consider using Wylder, Raider, Executor, or Ironeye.

In specific scenarios, Ironeye proves to be highly effective against Fulghor. This is especially true when wielding either a Lightning weapon or a Frost Bow. After successfully vanquishing the standard Darkdrift Knight, you’ll be granted access to the Everdark Sovereign Expedition, which leads to the boss encounter.

What’s New With Enhanced Darkdrift Knight?

With the latest game update, the code for the improved versions of Adel, Gnoster, and Fulghor was integrated. Consequently, savvy modders were able to extract detailed information about these bosses, including their new movesets and abilities, well ahead of the weekly resets. This early access knowledge includes details about the Darkdrift Knight’s abilities even before it becomes accessible in-game. Similar to Adel, Enhanced Fulghor initiates combat directly in his second phase. However, once his health reaches approximately 75%, he ascends into the air and acquires a new arm that is no longer tainted by the Night.

Alongside gaining access to two new strategies, one resembles a series of strikes similar to the Holy Greatbow spell but faster (the first combo), and the second is a more lethal sequence using a newly introduced Holy Twinblade that delivers a 5-hit attack. Interestingly, lightning seems effective against Fulghor, but in its third phase, the boss’s resistance levels are boosted.
