Instead of having a lavish wedding, Eddie Murphy’s son and Martin Lawrence’s daughter opted for a quiet ceremony at a little church. The talented actor discussed his son’s wedding during a recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Two weeks ago, Murphy revealed that Eddie and Jasmin Lawrence got married in a private ceremony. The SNL star excitedly shared, “They initially planned a grand wedding, but ended up deciding on a simple, intimate event just for the two of them.

As a gamer, I used to dream about splashing out on an epic in-game wedding event, but it looks like the comedian has beaten me to it! He’s no longer shelling out for a grand ceremony, though. Instead, they’re planning a massive bash to mark their union. Murphy shared that they tied the knot quietly at the church, only with the couple and the officiant present. So, I guess we can expect quite the party down the line!

Jennifer Hudson asked Murphy if he intends to perform at his son’s future wedding celebration, to which he responded negatively. “No, I won’t be singing… Martin will sing at the wedding. Yeah, that’d be funny.” He further mentioned that he might be interested in singing a duet instead.

Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence have been together since 2021. On his birthday last year, his girlfriend shared a heartfelt Instagram post expressing her affection for him. She said, “Happy Birthday, my dear one! I feel incredibly fortunate to know you, to love you, and to share life with you. Here’s to more happiness, laughter, and cherished moments ahead! I adore you so much!

Prior to this event, Eric had also expressed his affection on Instagram by posting a heartfelt message for his girlfriend. In June 2021, he uploaded a selfie of them and wrote, “Completely smitten with YOU.” After being together for three years, the famous couple graced the red carpet for Eddie’s movie, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, in Los Angeles for its premiere.
