Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson’s new comedy movie, The Pickup, has been given a release date.
The movie titled “The Pickup” is directed by Tim Story and produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Scripted by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, it features Eva Longoria, Keke Palmer, alongside Murphy and Davidson, among its star-studded cast.

In the film The Pickup, a simple money delivery job turns into a wild adventure when two incompatible armored truck operators, Russell (played by Eddie Murphy) and Travis (Pete Davidson), are attacked by relentless criminals, headed by cunning mastermind Zoe (Keke Palmer). As mayhem ensues, this odd couple must maneuver through perilous danger, personality conflicts, and a worsening day that just won’t end.
Beyond the main actors, we also have Ismael Cruz Cordova, Jack Kesy, Andrew Dice Clay, Marshawn Lynch, and Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i joining the film. Murphy, Story, and a team consisting of John David, John Fox, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster are producing this movie together.
The director behind the helm for both live-action Fantastic Four films from the 2000s – Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) – boasts an impressive filmography that spans over two decades. Among his works are 2002’s Barbershop, 2012’s Think Like a Man, 2014’s Ride Along, 2019’s Shaft, 2021’s Tom & Jerry, and 2022’s The Blackening. His latest production was the Christmas comedy Dashing Through the Snow in 2023.
Currently, Murphy has been featured in a different Christmas-themed comedy from 2023 titled “Candy Cane Lane”. In the following year, 2024, he revisited his character as Axel Foley in the film “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. revival”. Additionally, you’ll get to hear him voice Donkey once more when Shrek 5 hits the screens in 2026.
