Ed Wood’s Adult Films Get Remastered in Exclusive Hard Wood Trailer

As an avid cinephile with a soft spot for the quirky and offbeat, I must say that this Hard Wood: The Adult Features of Ed Wood collection has piqued my interest like no other! Having grown up watching Tim Burton’s biopic on the enigmatic director, I’ve always been fascinated by the lesser-known aspects of his career.

Looking forward to premiering, ComingSoon has prepared the trailer for Severin Films’ upcoming Blu-ray release of Ed Wood’s adult films trilogy. This three-disc set showcases a selection of ’70s movies directed by this cult icon, who was portrayed by Johnny Depp in the Tim Burton biopic. Among the offerings are Necromania, The Only House in Town, and The Young Marrieds, all of which have been restored from their original sources for the initial time without any cuts.

Towards the twilight of his professional journey, the creator of Plan 9 From Outer Space and Glen or Glenda, known for his affection towards angora, resorted to financing his alcohol expenses by penning and directing adult films with explicit content. This collection showcases three of his most striking works:

In addition to the main attraction, J. Pat O’Malley and William Schallert feature in the scarcely found hicksploitation movie ‘Shotgun Wedding,’ penned by Wood. This collection also offers over 7 hours of extra features such as three different audio commentaries, an exclusive chat between Bobcat Goldthwait and Dana Gould, the North American premiere on disc of ‘The Incredibly Strange Film Show – Ed Wood Jr.,’ nine vintage adult film snippets, and much more.
