EA’s latest The Sims 4 patch is making everyone pregnant, including the men and the chaste

The most recent update for The Sims 4 unexpectedly causes some players to experience a humorous yet unsettling pregnancy scenario in their virtual lives. Coinciding with the new expansion pack, “Enchanted by Nature,” this unforeseen bug seems to be contagious within the game, affecting all players regardless of safety measures taken.

Although not all players experience the distress of all characters in their game becoming pregnant unexpectedly, those encountering this glitch are seeing an unusually high number of Sims being labeled as pregnant at random.

Now in various parts of the game, Sims may unexpectedly find themselves with a baby Sim living inside them. This isn’t limited to female characters or those who have had romantic interactions throughout the town. In fact, this pregnancy phenomenon is impacting virtual abstainers and, surprisingly enough, it’s also affecting male Sims as well.

Regrettably, it’s not only the adult Sims who are experiencing unexpected pregnancies, as one Reddit user discovered. It seems that The Sims 4, despite being a game that simulates life, might benefit from omitting certain aspects of real life.

In The Sims 4, characters who are marked as pregnant have more restrictions than some players might assume. Once a character becomes pregnant, they’re no longer able to engage in WooHoo activities, they can’t take pregnancy tests (as pregnancy is already established), and they won’t blow out candles on their birthday cake because they don’t age during pregnancy.

The game “Enchanted by Nature,” on its own, was intended to offer players the freedom to manipulate the natural world. Yet, it appears that an update has inadvertently caused this disruption, leaving players taken aback as their characters have been made to appear pregnant unexpectedly, a development that has understandably left many dissatisfied.

I’m optimistic that an update will come out before long, but let’s not forget that the idea of removing something like a ‘magical baby’ is likely to draw criticism from many.

I’m confident that a fix will be rolled out soon, but it’s important to acknowledge that suggesting the removal of a ‘magical baby’ might not sit well with some individuals.
