As a hardcore Marvel fan with decades of comics under my belt and countless hours spent in cinemas watching these characters come to life, I must say that the latest teaser for Deadpool & Wolverine has sent shockwaves through my gaming universe! The concept art alone, featuring everyone from Deadpool variants to Ghost Rider and Daredevil, had me buzzing like a mutant on Red Bull.
As a die-hard fan, I stumbled upon some fascinating early sketches of the Deadpool & Wolverine duo, which surprisingly also featured characters like Daredevil, Ghost Rider, and even a dino-themed character!
In July 2024, theaters across the United States premiered the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe film featuring Deadpool and Wolverine. This action-packed movie was directed by Shawn Levy and features Ryan Reynolds portraying Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, among others.
On Instagram, Rodney Fuentebella from Marvel posted some early sketches for the upcoming movie. The sketch depicts Deadpool and Wolverine battling a horde of Deadpool clones, one of them being a T-Rex! Characters like Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Elektra, and others are also present in this scene.
“I’ve shared an initial sketch I made for the upcoming Marvel Studios movie featuring Deadpool and Wolverine. This was during the early phases of production, so many aspects have changed since then. However, I wanted to give you a glimpse into what this film could potentially offer at that time. I really enjoyed designing the interplay between our superheroes and the various Deadpool versions. In the Deadpool & Wolverine film, neither Ghost Rider nor Daredevil make an appearance, but Ryan Reynolds hinted at a possible return of Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider in a future MCU movie. A jab was also thrown about Ben Affleck’s Daredevil character and his real-life divorce from Jennifer Garner, who played Elektra in a different series.
