The as-yet-unscheduled Skate remake incorporates microtransactions, with these optional purchases available to players even during the game’s current alpha testing phase, prior to its official launch.
Skate reboot gets microtransactions
According to Inside Gaming, the developers at Full Circle have implemented a comprehensive microtransaction system for the Skate reboot. In the recent alpha test update, gamers can acquire San Van Bucks, a freshly introduced in-game currency, which they can use to purchase various cosmetic items within the game.
During the initial testing phase, those who utilize the game’s virtual money can expect to lose all their cosmetic items and progress once the game officially launches. On the other hand, any San Van Bucks they have accumulated during this period will be returned to them in the same virtual currency format upon release.
It’s been reported that the upcoming microtransactions for Skate are being tested in order to fine-tune the game’s paid cosmetic system before its launch. According to developer Full Circle, this testing is aimed at ensuring players who purchase items from the Skate store during release have a satisfying and enjoyable experience.
The developers expressed that player feedback would significantly enhance the quality of the Early Access launch, making it an exceptional experience for everyone involved.
The initial announcement for the Skate remake was made as far back as 2020, but it’s currently in a preliminary stage known as gray box. As of now, the early access version is planned for release around 2025, though an exact date for the open-world skating game has yet to be revealed.
Upon its official unveiling, the game titled “Skate” is expected to debut with an early access version, available at no cost across Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Since the Nintendo Switch 2 console is imminent, there’s optimism that the game will likewise be accessible on this next-generation handheld device; however, as of now, no formal plans for a port have been announced.
The creators at Full Circle are regularly sharing insights into their work-in-progress open world game on their YouTube channel. As we wait for the official launch, it’s evident that they’re pouring plenty of hard work into ensuring that this remake will offer an authentic experience for gamers who are eagerly anticipating it.
