E! News Canceled After 32 Years – Last Air Date Revealed

E! News has been announced that it will no longer be on television, having been terminated. The date for its final episode has also been announced. This marks the second time E! News has faced termination, following its cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to its cancellation in 2020, E! News aired during the daytime hours. However, it was transformed into a late-night show when it resumed broadcasting.

E! News gets canceled and will go off air in September

After more than three decades on the air, E! News has announced that it will be coming to an end. Its final episode will air on September 25th. Originally launched as part of the E! network, which is owned by NBCUniversal, E! News has been a staple of entertainment news for many years. (via Variety)

It appears that NBCUniversal hasn’t issued an official confirmation about the cancellation, but certain reports hint that the network may be focusing on expanding its digital presence instead.

According to Variety, it’s said that the decision was made because the 11 p.m. time slot given to E! News since its comeback in 2022 is no longer advantageous for the network. This is believed to be due to changes in how people now consume news. At present, E! News counts a total of 87 million followers across all their social media platforms.

Beyond MSNBC, USA Network, Oxygen, Golf Channel, CNBC, and others, E! News will transition to the newly established company, Versant – a spin-off from Comcast. On Thursday, July 24, it was announced to the staff that E! News would be discontinued, with some employees expected to join Versant. CEO Mark Lazarus is spearheading this move at Versant.

Presented by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester, E! News made its debut on television screens in September 1991, quickly becoming one of the most popular shows on TV.
