Dynamax Pokemon are coming in September to Pokemon GO

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Dynamax Pokemon coming to Pokemon GO has me positively giddy! Ever since the introduction of this feature in Pokemon Sword & Shield, I’ve been itching for a chance to take on these colossal creatures.

At the conclusion of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, Niantic hinted at a major update coming to Pokémon GO during the closing festivities. The only clue was a massive silhouette casting a shadow from above. On Tuesday, Pokémon GO’s developer unveiled some specifics about this upcoming event, revealing that Dynamax Pokémon will soon be joining the popular mobile game.

For those new to the game, Dynamax Pokémon was an exciting feature first presented in Pokémon Sword & Shield. During Dynamaxing, a Pokémon grows colossally large and receives a significant power enhancement. However, not every Pokémon can undergo this process, and it lasts for just three turns.

It’s not completely clear how Dynamaxing operates in Pokemon GO, but here’s what we know so far: Niantic has disclosed that Dynamax Pokemon will start appearing at new Power Sites globally. At these locations, trainers can assemble to engage in battles with these Pokemon and gain Max Particles. However, the specific function of Max Particles is still a mystery.

Search for Dynamax Pokemon as they’re set to appear in Pokemon GO during the Max Out event in September. Niantic is expected to reveal more specifics about how this will unfold closer to the start of the event. Additionally, the promotional artwork from Niantic hints at the inclusion of the starter Pokemon from Pokemon Sword & Shield, so players can anticipate their arrival alongside the Dynamax Pokemon. For now, the official Pokemon GO website offers some initial details on the upcoming event.
