As a gaming enthusiast, I’m super pumped about the upcoming horror thriller from Sam Raimi! In this flick, titled “Send Help“, I find myself taking on the roles of two survivors after a harrowing plane crash – that’s right, Dylan O’Brien and Rachel McAdams. Can’t wait to see how we navigate through the terrifying ordeal!
In a thrilling development, the movie titled “Send Help” will be helmed by Raimi, marking his long-awaited comeback to the chilling realm of horror films. Renowned for his work across various genres, Raimi has made significant contributions to the Evil Dead series, the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, Drag Me to Hell, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, among others.
Last July, it was initially announced that Raimi would be going back to his horror genre with a project called “Send Help.” At that point, the studio hadn’t given the project the go-ahead (greenlit) yet. The script for this film comes from Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, who have previously worked on Baywatch. Additionally, Zainab Azizi, one of the producers for Don’t Move, Boy Kills World, and 65, will be producing this movie under Raimi Productions.
What is Send Help about?
According to Deadline’s report, the survival horror thriller titled “Send Help” focuses on two characters who are colleagues. After enduring a plane crash, they wind up on an uninhabited island. With teamwork and their intellect as their only resources, they strive to stay alive and escape the island. The movie is rumored to blend elements from Rob Reiner’s “Misery” and Robert Zemeckis’s “Castaway.
Initially, Dylan O’Brien became widely recognized for his role as Stiles Stilinski on MTV’s popular supernatural series Teen Wolf. However, it wasn’t until 2014 that he achieved broader fame by playing Thomas in the Maze Runner movie franchise. His latest roles include the thriller film Ponyboi, the biographical comedy-drama Saturday Night, and the suspenseful Caddo Lake, which was produced by M. Night Shyamalan.
Among O’Brien’s most recognized works are American Assassin, Love and Monsters, the short film All Too Well, and Not Okay.
McAdams, who first appeared in films like Perfect Pie and The Hot Chick, became widely recognized in 2004 with the teen comedy Mean Girls and the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ novel, The Notebook. Since then, she has graced our screens in numerous other productions such as Wedding Crashers, Red Eye, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Sherlock Holmes, Midnight in Paris, Doctor Strange, About Time, Spotlight, Southpaw, Game Night, and many more.
Send Help is aiming to nab a theatrical release.
