As a gamer with a heart for Disney movies, I must say I’m utterly thrilled about the upcoming Moana 2! Being a fan of the original, I can’t help but feel nostalgic seeing Maui, played by none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, back on screen. The teaser clip promises an action-packed adventure that I can hardly wait to embark on!
A fresh sneak peek of the upcoming Disney animation sequel, Moana 2, has surfaced, hinting at Dwayne Johnson’s reprisal as Maui. The movie is slated to hit cinemas on November 27, 2024.
The movie brings together Moana and Maui again after three years for a grand sail on a crew of unconventional sailors. The plot thickens when Moana receives an unexpected call from her navigational ancestors, compelling her to venture far across Oceania’s vast expanse, braving treacherous, ancient waters for an adventure unlike any she has encountered before.

What happens in the Moana 2 clip?
The video provides fans with a closer look at Maui’s return as he shows off his transformation powers. It also features Maui meeting Moana’s adorable pet pig Pua, who he calls bacon. The sequel will feature the voices of Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Temuera Morrison as Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Rose Matafeo as Loto, David Fane as Kele, Rachel House as Tala, Alan Tudyk as Heihei, Awhimai Fraser as Matangi, and more.
In a new twist, Moana 2 is being helmed by directors David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, who collaborated on the screenplay with Jared Bush. Previously, Ron Clements and John Musker were in charge of the original production. This sequel has not only proven to be a financial triumph, raking in over $600 million, but also received acclaim from critics, landing two Oscar nominations: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
